Welcome to the “TOUGHEST ‘LIL ROAD RACE IN TEXAS!“
HOT DOGGERS!, we are in our Lucky 7 year, founded in 2008, by Erika Wisdom and organized yearly by the Baeza/Garza families. We are dedicated to serving the Amarillo-area and addressing the mental health concerns of Depression Awareness & Suicide Prevention. Last year, we had runners from the DFW, Austin, Lubbock, Odessa-Midland, Albuquerque, and Oklahoma City areas. Our overall male winner was from Colorado, and our overall female winner was a local runner from Amarillo.
The Palo Duro Hot Dog 15K & 3-Person Relay is something special. It starts a short distance from the north rim of the canyon, drops 1000 ft into the canyon as runners race across an open road exposed to the elements before challenging themselves to reach the finish line at the top of the south rim, 9.3 miles later.
Please join us again (or for the first time) as we celebrate healthy bodies and healthy minds for a beautiful race that is the Palo Duro Hot Dog.
